FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Why no palm oil?
A: Palm oil has been a staple in bar soap for many years because it is relatively cheap and creates a hard long lasting bar. However, there are significant environmental challenges to harvesting palm oil and so we’ve chosen not to use it in our products. Instead, we use fair trade Shea butter which creates both a hard long lasting bar of soap AND fair employment to women in Ghana.
Q: How long does a bar of soap last?
A: It depends how often you use the bar! Bar soap is a very efficient soap because it doesn’t contain as much water as liquid soap. However, it is water soluble which means if it is left in a pool of water it will become soft and get used up quickly. We recommend using a soap dish that has high ridges so that the bar can dry out between uses. In our experience, a regular size bar lasts upwards of 2 weeks.
Q: How long will shipping take?
A: We process orders together once a week and shipping times vary by shipping carrier. Generally less than 2 days within BC and 5-7 days East of Manitoba. You can read more about our shipping policy here.
